Gulf Shores Packs a lot of Vacation into One Destination

Gulf Shores is one of the best-kept secrets on the Gulf coast! Imagine having more than fifteen golf championship golf courses, fishing excursions, a water adventure park, and 32 miles of some of the most beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico in one place. When you think of Gulf Shores, you probably imagine sugar-white sandy beaches and turquoise waters gently lapping on the shores. Sounds enticing, yes? Well, there’s more. Saltwater fishing excursioans are only seven miles away at Orange Beach, which, by the way, happens to be home to the largest charter fishing-boat fleets in the US. And they offer half-day or full-day deep-sea and back-bay fishing excursions; choices abound for every rod and reel.

If you enjoy getting in touch with nature, there are bird and wildlife sanctuaries close by. The Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge to the west and beyond that, the Audubon Bird Sanctuary at Dauphin Island State Park, located a short and very fun ferry ride beyond the western edge of the peninsula. There are a wide range of accommodations to suit every taste and budget from luxury condos on the beach to less expensive hotels that lie five miles inland. However, let me offer some advice.
